Introducing Artist Roster: YouTube’s Game-Changing Update for Analytics
In MayIn May 2024, YouTube will roll out Artist Roster, one of the most significant and eagerly awaited updates to Analytics for Artists since its inception.
With Artist Roster, managers and label teams can now effortlessly track all their artists’ performance on YouTube in one centralized location, accessible via the Studio mobile app.
This powerful new feature allows multi-artist managers to:
Gain valuable insights into factors driving positive performance—or contributing to slowdowns—helping you make informed, strategic decisions.
Monitor weekly trends and track how each artist is performing over time.
Identify top-performing songs on Shorts and capitalize on viral moments.
Seamlessly switch between Analytics for multiple artists.
Insight Tabs
If an artist’s weekly views are trending up or down, YouTube highlights this in the Insights tab. The tab displays up to five artists at a time, along with the top song, video, or Short driving the change. To view insights for more artists, simply tap ‘See All.’ Additionally, you can explore the top-performing songs in Shorts across your entire roster.

Artists Tabs
In the Artist tab, you can view the number of views and unique viewers from the past 7 days, along with directional arrows showing whether an artist’s performance is trending upward or downward. By default, your roster is sorted alphabetically.

Individual Artist View
Once you navigate to a specific artist, you can continue to explore their full analytics. You can easily navigate back to the Artist Roster through the account picker

How to Activate Artist Roster
The Artist Roster feature is built on Channel Permissions, allowing YouTube to automatically identify the artists you have delegated access to. By following the steps below, you can activate this feature and manage your Artist Roster without needing to switch accounts.

Channel Permissions on YouTube allow managers to effectively oversee channels. Key features include:
- Managing channel access
- Uploading Shorts

- Avoiding watch/search history pollution
How to edit Channel Permissions
- Verify the email linked to your Brand Account is accurate.
- Ensure the emails of the users you want to associate with are active and accessible.
- As the primary owner, sign in to YouTube Studio.
- On the left-hand menu, click ‘Settings’.
- Navigate to ‘Permissions’ and select ‘Move Permission.’
- Assign a role to each existing user associated with your Brand Account.
- Click ‘Invite.’ Invited users will receive an email to accept the invitation and will appear in Studio Permissions.
Activating the Artist Roster
Once your Channel Permissions are set up and you have delegation rights for at least two Official Artist Channels, follow these steps to activate the Roster view:
- Tap your profile image in the top-right corner of the YouTube Studio mobile app.
- Select ‘Artist Roster.’
- Check your inbox for the Artist Roster welcome email with additional details.
Congratulations! You now have access to the Artist Roster, making it easier to manage and monitor your artists.
