Fetty Wap Reportedly Sued Over “Trap Queen” Beat
Danish producer Lazar Lakic claims he owns exclusive rights to the “Trap Queen” beat.
A Danish producer has sued Fetty Wap and the producer of “Trap Queen,” claiming that he owns exclusive rights to the beat for the smash single, TMZ reports.
Lazar Lakic claims that “Trap Queen” producer Tony Fadd sold him the rights to a song called “Hello” in 2014, then used the virtually the same beat to make “Trap Queen.”Lakic sayas Fadd contacted him in January 2015, one month after “Trap Queen” was re-packaged as a single under 300 Entertainment, to try and buy back the rights to “Hello.” Lakic allegedly declined the offer.
Navarro Grey, Fetty’s attorney, claims that Fetty bought the beat from Fadd under contract and that he will sue Fadd if Lakic wins his lawsuit.
“Trap Queen” peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, went 4x platinum, and ultimately catapulted Fetty to rap stardom.
